Which pelican should you pick?
You choose a pelican before each run. The choice changes how the bike feels — top speed, how fast balance drains and recovers, jump height, rotation speed — not the goal, and not how the road is generated. Below they are compared on top speed, weight and balance: the same three bars you see on the selection cards.
Classic Pelican
Balanced
Moderate speed and balance
The baseline every other bird is measured against. Never the fastest or the steadiest, never bad at anything either. Start here, or come back here to judge your own rhythm.
Base top speed 97 km/h
Heavy Pelican
Steady
Slow off the line, hard to unsettle
Lowest balance drain, fastest recovery, least sensitive to wobble — paid for with the lowest top speed in the game and a heavy start. Lands deep without bouncing back. Good for grinding out distance.
Base top speed 79 km/h
Swift Pelican
Speed
Fastest, hardest to hold
Top speed and acceleration both lead the field, but it burns balance the fastest, recovers the slowest and reacts hardest to wobble. Trails feather streaks at speed. The record-chasing pick, if you are willing to let go.
Base top speed 119 km/h
Little Pelican
Agile
Jumps higher, flips quicker
Strongest jump, lightest gravity, long air time and quick rotation, with a springy landing. Take it if you want to stack flips or play with the ramps.
Base top speed 90 km/h
Giant Pelican
Heavyweight
Huge frame, heavier hits
Heaviest body and the least wobble sensitivity, so it is stable — but rotation in the air is the slowest and its own weight holds it down. Its crash animation is also the most exaggerated of the six.
Base top speed 94 km/h
Scarf Pelican
Recovery
Quick start, fast balance recovery
Acceleration second only to the swift pelican, balance recovery on par with the heavy one, drain slightly above baseline. Built for a burst-and-coast style. The scarf streams in the wind, so it is easy to spot.
Base top speed 94 km/h
Base top speed is the flat-ground ceiling in km/h with the pedal held down. Later stages loosen the speed cap, so real speeds run higher deeper into a ride.
Still undecided?
Ride two runs on the classic pelican and look at what kills you. Always out of balance? Take the heavy or scarf pelican. Always short on speed before the next hazard? Take the swift one. Enjoying the ramps? Take the little one.
